Medical camp was organized by Humanity Welfare Organization Helpline

On 18 April 2017 a medical camp was organized by Humanity Welfare Organization Helpline in collaboration with IMHANS (Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences) Srinagar at Zaiba Appa institute of Inclusive Education Bijbehara Anantnag .Total number of 57 disable children were examined during the camp by the doctors. The medical team from IMHANS comprised of Dr. Maqbool, Dr. Sajjad and Dr. Zahoor who examined the children with psycho - social disabilities, mental disabilities & multiple disabilities. Parents of various mental disable children were also consulted for overall rehabilitation of children with multiple disabilities. The disable children present were also given on spot trainings for their daily living and were provided free medicine by the medical team. Dental check up was also done to the children and were provided free dental hygiene kits so that they may not have any dental issues in the future and the children were also taught how to keep oneself health both physically and mentally and were informed how our mental affects our physical health. Importance of good oral health was also discussed with the children and they were asked to brush their teeth regular two times in a day. The team appreciated the work of Huamnity Welfare Organization in taking care of children regarding the health of children with disabilities who are taking special education in the Zaiba Appa Institute. The programme was fully sponsored by the united way India Mumbai.

Dr. Maqbool on the occasion said that such type of camps should be organized in future also so that early identification of health issues could be done so that proper treatment could be provided to the people. He stressed the need that education institutions should organize such camps in their institutes as many problems can be prevented at the tender age. He also aware the parents of the children who were present there about their role in the development of their children. He said family is the first school for a child and parents should be very careful regarding the health of their children. He also stressed the need that parents of a disable children should be given training how to care and handle their children as they always remain prone to many diseases and should also taught about the activities of daily living.

Javed Ahmad Tak Chairman of Humanity Welfare Organziation Helpline while interacting with the children and their parents said that the most invaluable on the planet earth is health and one should always know the importance of health in the life of a person. He said that persons with disabilities can be the productive part of society only if their health status is well and disease free.
