Advocacy meeting with His Excellency the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir and other stake holders for effective Implementation of Persons with Disabilities act in the State

Every year Humanity welfare organization celebrate the Helen Keller Day in the Month of June at Raj Bhawan Srinagar with His Excellency Governor of Jammu and Kashmir with an objective to highlight the disability issues & motivate the Governor for taking initiatives for the enactment of National Trust Act. By the efforts of Organization Raj Bhawan Srinagar was made barrier free and HWOHL family visited all the ramps and Disable friendly Toilets and Bathrooms newly constructed at Raj Bhawan Srinagar. Disability issues like barriers faced by persons with disabilities, non implementation of PWD Act, need and importance of enactment of national trust act in Jammu and Kashmir, accessibility issues and related fair concession and special passes for PWD. Director Social welfare assured the organization that the office will be made barrier free by constructing Ramps. Memorandum was submitted to His Excellency the Governor of J&K regarding the Enactment of National Trust Act.

Governor assured the Organization that issues related to persons with Disabilities will be taken up with the concerned Ministry and proper Implementation of Persons with disability will be ensured.
